Channels Report

The "Ian Paul Foursomes" was finally played by the gentlemen
at Channels Golf Club on Sunday, March 7th. Usually played
on New Years Day the snow and then continuing poor weather
put it back nine weeks and two days.
However, played on a bright but cold morning it was worth
waiting for. Particularly for Rob Tredgett and Dan Taylor
who won it with 38 points followed by Mardi and Kevin Amner
who took this second spot on countback from father and son
Graham and Steve Chalk. Both these pairs scored 36 points
The Mid Week medal was won by Rob Tredgett (1 h/c) with 38
points on countback from Martin De'ath who plays off a
handicap of 8.
The "Mail on Sunday" team of Channels' ladies played away
against Chelmsford Golf Club on Sunday. It was a very close
match. Channels' Elaine Jewitt lost the first match , then
Sandra Knight halved her game before Sue Mitchell and Linda
Crisp both won for Channels. The important game was won by
Chelmsford's Trish Wilson against Channels' Jackie Thompson
to finish ,after five games ,as a 2 1/2 each team result. A
decider had to be played between the last named pair and it
was home player Trish that won ,securing the path through to
the next round for Chelmsford.
